I would like it to be summer right now so I have been fooling myself by mixing classic cocktails, imagining I am lounging next to a pool, with some gorgeous specimen of a man bringing me refreshing cocktails.
This 70s cocktail knows what it is like to play trickery on the mind. It may look tropical but hides a refreshing, tangy taste. It is for this reason it is nicknamed in some countries as the Fruit Tingle cocktail, based on the sweets ‘Fruit Tingles’ which fizz on your tongue.
1 part Vodka
1 part Blue Curacao 4 parts lemonade
Dash of lime cordial - Optional
1 slice of lemon
HOW TO SERVE
In a highball glass, over ice with a lemon slice to garnish.
HOW TO MAKE
Fill your glass with ice and pour over the Vodka, lemonade and dash of lime cordial. Stir this up and add your Blue Curacao. Watch it deliciously drizzle through the ice (optional).
Make a slit in the lemon slice and place it onto the rim of the glass.
I chose to put my cocktail into a hurricane glass because I find it more decorative without losing too many of the benefits from a highball glass. I then garnished this with vodka soaked cherries.
If you find this cocktail too strong or tangy, then wait a few minutes before drinking. Give it a really good stir and let the ice melt through the flavour.
